Picoscope CAN-FD protocol decoding

PicoScope 6 decodes CAN FD

Pico Technology added CAN FD decoding to its PicoScope 6 software. This software, available free of charge for all PicoScope oscilloscopes, delivers features such as serial decoding, channel math, mask limit testing and spectrum analysis.

PicoScope 6 can already decode a wide variety of serial protocols such as I2C, SPI and UART, as well as automotive standards such as CAN, LIN and FlexRay. Now it can also decode CAN FD, which is the latest and fastest version of CAN Bus used in automotive and industrial automation applications.

PicoScope software Serial decoding capabilities allow to see the the decoded data on the same timebase as the analog waveforms. Bit fields within frames are color-coded for easier identification, with errors highlighted in red.

A click on a decoded frame instantly highlights the same data in a table below the waveform. It is possible to search and sort the decoded data, export it in text format, and display optional measurements such as peak voltage, packet duration and start and stop times.

PicoScope 6 runs on Windows PC, making it easy to share waveforms by email via a .psdata file or a screen shot. You can also export waveform data in a range of binary and text formats.

PicoScope 6.12.7 is available for download, free of charge, from Pico Technology Website. It runs on Windows 7, 8 and 10, 32-bit or 64-bit, and is compatible with all PicoScope oscilloscopes.
