Trescal acquires four laboratories in Brazil, Germany and the United States

  • Trescal, metrology services specialist, acquired Brazilian Vale Balanças, Germany’s Aicher Kalibrierdienst, Atlas Copco’s metrology business in Germany, and Massachusetts Metrology in the USA.
  • These four acquisitions will enable the French group to generate approximately €6 million ($7.36M) inn additional revenues.
  • This brings to 31 the number of acquisitions of Trescal since its acquisition by the investment group Ardian in July 2013.

 
Created in 2009 in Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil, Vale Balanças is an IPEM accredited laboratory offering metrology and maintenance services for scales up to 80 tons. The founders of this Brazilian company, which employs seven people, join Trescal.

Aicher Kalibrierdienst is a DakkS accredited metrology laboratory specialised in the Life Sciences sector. Founded in 1997 and based in Biberach, Germany, the company employs ten people. Its founder and CEO retains his functions to help develop Trescal Germany’s customer portfolio in the Life Sciences field.

Atlas Copco‘s metrology business comprises three DakkS accredited laboratories located in Wetzlar, Kiel and Munich. These German one-stop-shop laboratories have expertise in the electrical and mechanical fields. They have 36 employees and have a turnover of €3.5M ($4.29M).

Massachusetts Metrology is an A2LA accredited laboratory specialized in the field of temperature and pressure in particular in heat treatment according to the standard AMS 2750E specific to the aeronautical industry. This American laboratory, created in 1977 and based in the Boston area, employs eight people. It operates in the aeronautical, food and pharmaceutical sectors. Its owner and current CEO remains in place to continue the development of Trescal in the state of Massachusetts.
