Anritsu Achieves EN 18052:2025 Certification for its Hybrid eCall Evaluation System

  • This certification, issued by cetecom advanced, validates the solution’s compliance for the comprehensive evaluation of Hybrid eCall systems operating on 2G, 3G, and 4G networks.

 
Hybrid eCall technology combines 4G (LTE) packet-switched communications with 2G (GSM/GPRS) / 3G (W-CDMA) circuit-switched networks, ensuring optimal continuity of emergency calls. Since January 1, 2026, compliance with Next Generation eCall (NG eCall) is mandatory for all new vehicle type approvals in the European Union. Anritsu’s solution enables automotive manufacturers and suppliers to validate their Hybrid eCall systems, ensuring their compliance with European regulatory requirements.

The eCall system automatically triggers an emergency call in the event of an accident, transmitting essential data (location, vehicle information) to emergency response centers (PSAPs). EN 18052:2025 certification confirms that Anritsu’s solution meets European standards for interoperability and communication performance between vehicles, mobile network operators, and PSAPs.

Anritsu’s solution integrates a PSAP simulation environment to test Hybrid eCall systems embedded in vehicles. It consists of:

  • MD8475B signaling tester to simulate mobile networks.
  • MX703330E eCall tester to evaluate the performance of eCall systems.
  • NG eCall and Hybrid eCall software options for feature evaluation.
