- Rohde & Schwarz announces that it has recorded growth in both sales and orders in its fiscal year 2023/2024 compared with the previous year.
For fiscal 2023/2024 (July to June), its sales rose by 5.3% to 2.93 billion euros, while incoming orders exceeded expectations with an increase of 22.77% to 3.87 billion euros. Operating income was positive.
By focusing on connectivity and security, the German group believes it is well positioned in the relevant growth markets, and is optimistic about the new fiscal year, which has got off to a good start.
To maintain its market position, Rohde & Schwarz invests between 15 and 20% of sales in research and development every year.
The Munich-based firm employed more than 14,400 people worldwide on June 30, 2024.
Rohde & Schwarz comprises three divisions: Test & Measurement, Technology Systems and Networks & Cybersecurity. The German company reports that all three divisions are set for growth in the 2024/2025 financial year. It is also confident that it will be able to strengthen its position as a leading technology group despite geopolitical and economic conditions, which are likely to remain difficult.
In a difficult market environment, Rohde & Schwarz reports that its test and measurement business was generally stable in fiscal year 2023/2024, thanks to its diversified product portfolio. The company points out that, in the wireless communications segment, demand was down on previous years.
However, it notes that customers in the research and development sector continue to rely on its test and measurement equipment to drive forward future technologies: next-generation mobile telecommunications, beyond 5G and 6G, artificial intelligence, sensor integration…
Increasing demand for test and measurement solutions for quantum technology research has also had a positive impact on orders booked by the German company.
