- Andreas Pauly, previously Head of the Test & Measurement Division, joined the Rohde & Schwarz Board of Directors as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) on October 1, 2023.
- Christina Gessner, who took over as Head of the Test & Measurement Division, is now a member of the Rohde & Schwarz Executive Board.
For Rohde & Schwarz, which has recorded several years of successive growth, the appointment of a third member to the Board of Directors is intended to lay the foundations for its future development.
Andreas Pauly (53) is no stranger to the German company, having joined its Test & Measurement division in 1996. In 2003, he obtained his first management position. In 2015, he was appointed Vice President of the Signal Generators, Audio Analyzers and Power Meters segment. Two years later, he became Executive Vice President of the Test & Measurement division. In particular, he strengthened the division’s resilience to market fluctuations by focusing on diversifying the product portfolio and investing in future technologies.
Focus on innovation and projects
As President and CTO, Andreas Pauly will concentrate on R&D, while continuing to focus on Test & Measurement equipment. Peter Riedel, who joined the Board of Directors in 2014, will remain President and Chief Operating Officer (COO). He will focus in particular on growth projects. Christian Leicher, Managing Partner, will continue to lead the Board as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The creation of the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is, according to Rohde & Schwarz, in line with the development process of the German group. To continue offering solutions that meet the needs of its markets, the company invests a double-digit percentage of its sales in research and development every year. In order to achieve its growth objectives, the Board of Directors will be concentrating more on project activities.
Management of the Test & Measurement Division
Christina Gessner (50) has succeeded Andreas Pauly as head of the Test & Measurement Division, while at the same time joining the Rohde & Schwarz management team. In her most recent position, she was Vice President of the Spectrum and Network Analyzers, EMC and Antenna Test Equipment segment. She joined Rohde & Schwarz as Technology Manager in 2004. In 2011, she became responsible for managing spectrum and network analysis products. She subsequently held various management positions before being appointed Vice President of the entire business segment in 2018.
