Rohde & Schwarz R&S BBA300 Amplifier Series

Rohde & Schwarz Expands the Frequency Range of the R&S BBA300 Amplifier Series

  • Rohde & Schwarz is expanding its R&S®BBA300 series of solid-state broadband amplifiers with the R&S®BBA300-F and R&S®BBA300-FG amplifier series, covering frequencies up to 13 GHz and 18 GHz, respectively.

In addition to the R&S®BBA300-CDE (380 MHz to 6 GHz) and R&S®BBA300-DE (1 to 6 GHz) broadband amplifier series, Rohde & Schwarz now offers dual-band amplifiers covering the frequency range from 380 MHz to 18 GHz.

The R&S®BBA300 family of amplifiers, housed in 4RU enclosures, supports amplitude, frequency, phase, pulse, and complex OFDM modulation modes. They can be used for EMC, coexistence, and RF component testing during development, conformance testing, and production.

The R&S®BBA300-F series (between 6 GHz and 13 GHz) and R&S®BBA300-FG series (from 6 GHz to 18 GHz) are suitable for ultra-wideband applications and meet various EMC standards in the mobile communications (FCC, ETSI), automotive (ISO), aerospace (DO-160), and military (MIL-STD-461) sectors. These amplifiers are available in 30 W, 50 W, 90 W, 180 W, and 300 W power classes.

The R&S®BBA300 wideband amplifier series offers two tools for tailoring the RF output signal to the application: tuning the amplifier for appropriate linearity or faithful reproduction of pulsed signals by shifting the operating point between Class A and Class AB, and tuning the amplifier for output mismatch tolerance or maximum RF output power to exploit the application’s power reserves. This allows users to optimize the output signal and respond to a variety of requirements. Both parameters can be changed during amplifier operation.
