Rohde & Schwarz R&S BBA300 broadband amplifier

Rohde & Schwarz BBA300 broadband amplifiers climb to 6 GHz

  • The new R&S BBA300 family of broadband RF amplifiers includes two models that provide continuous coverage of a frequency range from 380 MHz to 6 GHz.

These amplifiers have been designed to meet the requirements of EMC test centers and RF component test and validation applications.

The BBA300-DE and BBA300-CDE models cover a frequency range of 1 GHz to 6 GHz and 380 MHz to 6 GHz respectively. Depending on the variant, they deliver an output power of 15, 25, 50 or 180 W. A variant with an output power of 300 W is planned for the third quarter of 2022.

These instruments can amplify narrowband CW signals, signals with single AM, FM, PM or φM modulation, as well as complex broadband OFDM signals, for example with a bandwidth of 200 MHz.

Both amplifier models support GSM, LTE, 5G and GPRS mobile communication frequencies, as well as frequencies for the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Zigbee wireless communication standards.

They feature a noise power density as low as -110 dBm/Hz, a noise figure of 10 dB and harmonic characteristics of -25 dBc. This, according to Rohde & Schwarz, ensures low adjacent channel leakage rate (ACLR) and excellent transfer characteristics without additional EVM. Their integrated self-protection system protects them against RF imbalance up to a VSWR of 6:1.
