LCR meter of the R&S LCX series from Rohde & Schwarz

Rohde & Schwarz announces the R&S LCX meter series

  • Rohde & Schwarz announces the launch of the R&S LCX series of LCR meters for impedance measurements over a frequency range of 4 Hz to 10 MHz.

The LCR meters of the R&S LCX series measure the impedance of capacitors, inductors, resistors and analog filters. They are designed for both laboratory and production use. They can be remotely controlled and have measurement recording capabilities. They can be rack mounted and combined with various component test accessories.

These instruments perform conventional impedance measurements of the component under test by measuring the AC voltage and current as well as the phase shift. These values are then used to calculate the complex impedance at any given functional point. They can measure the equivalent series resistance (ESR) and equivalent series inductance (ESL) of electrolytic capacitors and DC link capacitors. The R&S LCX-K106 option allows the impedance of components to be studied as a function of frequency. This allows dynamic impedance measurements to be performed by varying frequency, voltage or current.

The R&S LCX family consists of the R&S LCX100 and R&S LCX200 models, which cover a frequency range of 4 Hz to 300 kHz and 4 Hz to 500 kHz respectively. Options are available to cover frequencies up to 10 MHz. These instruments have an accuracy of ±0.05% for impedance measurements and ±0.03° for phase measurements.

Both models feature a large capacitive touchscreen and a virtual keyboard to perform the most important measurements. Voltage, current and frequency values can be adjusted with a rotary knob. Less frequently used measurement functions are accessible via a menu. The instrument configuration, measured values and statistics can be displayed on the screen or downloaded. Up to four measured values can be selected to plot their evolution over time. The display of minimum and maximum values allows the implementation of Pass/Fail tests.

The LCR meters of the R&S LCX family are part of the R&S Essentials instrument family. They will be available from Rohde & Schwarz and selected sales partners from March 15, 2022.
