- Keysight Technologies has completed the acquisition of Optical Solutions Group from Synopsys and PowerArtist from Ansys.
- These acquisitions strengthen Keysight’s design engineering software portfolio and computer-aided engineering solutions.
“Keysight is expanding its multiphysics design capabilities with the acquisitions of Optical Solutions Group and PowerArtist. Their software solutions enable system simulation processes to support earlier and more informed design decisions in the power, optics, and photonics fields,” said Niels Faché, senior vice president of Design Engineering Software at Keysight.
Optical Solutions Group, a software company specializing in optical design and analysis, offers optical design tools such as CODE V for imaging system design, LightTools for lighting design, LucidShape for automotive lighting design, ImSym for virtual prototyping of imaging systems, and RSoft photonic device design tools for electromagnetic simulations of photonic and optoelectronic devices.
PowerArtist specializes in pre-synthesis power analysis and offers a register-transfer-level (RTL) power design platform used for upstream power analysis and semiconductor design downscaling.
As a reminder, Synopsys announced its intention to acquire Ansys in January 2024. To avoid monopoly positions in certain simulation areas and to obtain the required approvals for this transaction, Synopsys had to divest Optical Solutions Group and Ansys had to separate its PowerArtist business.
