- Keysight Technologies has renewed its service contract with the UK division of aerospace and defense manufacturer Leonardo.
- This five-year agreement entrusts Keysight with the comprehensive management of test equipment across several Leonardo industrial sites in the United Kingdom.
The agreement builds on a collaboration initiated in 2016 between the two entities. The outsourcing program provides for Keysight to manage the complete lifecycle of the British manufacturer’s fleet of measurement instruments.
Operational services include:
- Periodic calibration of devices to ensure metrological traceability against national and international standards.
- Corrective maintenance and repair of test systems.
- Logistical management of device movements and digital asset tracking.
The goal of this centralization is to maintain the operational availability of test benches used in the development and manufacturing phases of aerospace and defense equipment. These sectors are subject to strict regulatory compliance and safety requirements that mandate rigorous control of measurement uncertainties.
Support Infrastructure and Logistics
To provide these services across Leonardo’s various UK sites, Keysight relies on its network of regional service centers as well as on-site technical support teams. The use of digital management tools also enables centralized reporting of performance indicators for the instrument fleet.
Garry Clark, Head of Test Equipment Managed Services (TEMS) at Leonardo, indicates that the renewal of this partnership is based on the quality indicators and analytical monitoring implemented over the past ten years. According to Luca Tommasi, Managing Director of Keysight Services for the EMEA region, this support aims to integrate compliance and lifecycle maintenance constraints in production environments with complex test architectures.
