Anritsu's MT8870A Universal Wireless Communication Tester

NB-IoT Test Options for Anritsu MT8870A Tester

  • Anritsu extends the functionality of its Universal Wireless Test Set MT8870A by announcing the availability of the NB-IoT Uplink Tx Measurement MX887067A software and NB-IoT Downlink Waveforms MV887067A package supporting 3GPP RF measurement tests for NB-IoT (NarrowBand-Internet of Things).
  • With the NB-IoT software options installed on the MT8870A, it is possible to evaluate communication equipment using integrated NB-IoT test functions and check RF characteristics of the transmit and receive modules (TRx). These options are integrated into the PC-based signal analysis application.

An automatic measurement application is also provided to control measuring instruments and chipsets during prototyping phases and volume production testing. These software packages can be used to simplify the creation of test programs and automatic measurement, thus reducing software development time.

The NB-IoT (NarrowBand-Internet of Things) wireless communication standard is intended for use by devices connected to the Internet (IoT or Internet Of Things). It is characterized by low power consumption during wireless signal transmission, extended in-building coverage , low integration costs, and the availability of security and privacy features.

The MT8870A universal tester is designed for volume production testing of wireless communication devices using 2G/3G/LTE/LTE-A, W-LAN, Bluetooth, GPS and FM technologies. Up to four test units can be installed in one main chassis. Each unit carries out measurements independently and in parallel, making it possible to test up to four wireless communication devices simultaneously.

Featuring these NB-IoT test software options (NB-IoT Uplink Tx Measurement MX887067A and NB-IoT Downlink Waveforms MV887067A), the MT8870A performs NB-IoT 3GPP RF tests such as power, frequency, modulation accuracy and Rx sensitivity tests.
