- Effective July 1, 2026, Hansjörg Herrbold and Andreas Hägele will jointly lead Rohde & Schwarz’s Technology Systems Division as Executive Vice Presidents.
Hansjörg Herrbold and Andreas Hägele (pictured) succeed Dr. Luis Alejandro Orellano, who will step down on June 30 at his own request. This dual leadership structure reflects an organizational strategy to align the division more closely with customer expectations and market developments by strategically distributing responsibility across the various business segments.
Hansjörg Herrbold brings over twenty years of experience in the defense sector at Rohde & Schwarz. He has notably managed the long-term growth of the naval communications segment. Prior to this appointment, he headed the Information and Business Technology division and, as such, sat on the Group’s Executive Committee, positions he will retain in his new role.
Andreas Hägele also joins the Executive Committee with this appointment. A specialist in critical infrastructure and physical security, he notably developed the microwave imaging business unit during his last five years with the company. He oversaw the deployment of the R&S QPS security scanner range, of which more than 2,000 units are currently in operation in airport infrastructure worldwide for passenger screening.
Before joining Rohde & Schwarz, Andreas Hägele served as Managing Director at a digital security company, where he managed a portfolio of businesses representing several hundred million euros in revenue.
This managerial reorganization aims to consolidate the strategic positioning of the Technology Systems division in its various civil and military markets.
