Rohde & Schwarz’s Automotive Ethernet compliance test solution.

Rohde & Schwarz announces an IEEE 802.3cg 10BASE-T1S compliance test solution

  • The new IEEE 10BASE-T1S standard extends the range of applications supported by Automotive Ethernet to include the integration of simple devices into the vehicle network.
  • Rohde & Schwarz, a member of the OPEN Alliance, offers a solution for testing compliance with 10BASE-T1S automotive Ethernet standards.

Rohde & Schwarz’s 10BASE-T1S compliance test solution can be used with its RTO R&S and RTP R&S oscilloscopes. It allows automated tests to be performed in accordance with the current version of the IEEE 802.3cg 10BASE-T1S interfaces.

The new R&S RTO-K89 and R&S RTP-K89 software tools provide illustrated instructions to guide users through the 10BASE-T1S compliance test process. During this operation, the oscilloscopes and the R&S ZND network analyzer are automatically configured. The test results are documented in a test report in pdf format. The proposed solution also includes an test fixture for connecting to the 10BASE-T1S interface to facilitate the implementation and configuration of the test.

With these new options, Rohde & Schwarz now has a test range of all existing automotive Ethernet standards (10BASE-T1S, 100BASE-T1, 1000BASE-T1, 1000BASE-T1) as well as other standard automotive buses (LIN, CAN, CAN, CAN-FD, FlexRay and CXPI).

R&S RTO and R&S RTP R&S RTP oscilloscopes can thus be used for testing ECUs under development integrating a variety of automotive bus interfaces and internal interfaces such as PCIe or DDR.
