Teledyne LeCroy’s Frontline X500e.

Teledyne LeCroy’s Frontline X500e sniffer captures traffic from a variety of wireless communication technologies

  • Teledyne LeCroy has announced the launch of the Frontline X500e wireless communication protocol analyzer, which captures and correlates data from a wide range of radio transmission technologies, including Wi-Fi 7.
  • The X500e analyzer provides information on wireless transmission technologies such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 802.15.4-based technologies (including Matter, Thread and Zigbee), or wired interfaces such as HCI-UART, USB, SPI and Audio I2S.

In their quest for faster wireless transmission, lower latency and energy efficiency, manufacturers of communicating electronic devices are turning to Wi-Fi 7 technology, based on the IEEE 802.11be standard for intensive, immersive applications such as industrial and medical IoT, 8K video streaming, online gaming and augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) solutions.

The Frontline X500e analyzer supports 320 MHz channel width and 4096 QAM (quadrature amplitude modulation). This enables design and test engineers, as well as IT specialists, to optimize performance and solve problems in wireless communication systems.

This solution enables :

  • Guarantee the interoperability of products incorporating Wi-Fi 7 technology.
  • Measure the impact of Wi-Fi 7 on overall system performance, latency and throughput.
  • Reveal how Wi-Fi 7 implementations coexist with other wireless technologies, such as Bluetooth, promoting harmonious communication.

The Frontline X500e, in conjunction with Teledyne LeCroy’s Wireless Protocol Suite software, is suitable for product development, testing, deployment and maintenance applications that exploit various wireless technologies, including Bluetooth and Wi-Fi in the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands.

Existing Frontline X500 customers interested in the enhanced X500e version supporting Wi-Fi 7 can contact Teledyne Lecroy for information on upgrading their X500 systems.
