Keysight eCall test solution

Keysight’s Hybrid eCall Testing Solution Has Been Certified

  • Keysight Technologies has obtained Dekra certification for its Hybrid eCall testing solution according to the EN 18052:2025 standard.
  • This validation enables automotive manufacturers to meet regulatory requirements related to the evolution of cellular networks and ensure the compliance of connected vehicles.

With the gradual replacement of 2G and 3G networks by 4G and 5G technologies, manufacturers must integrate next-generation eCall (NG-eCall) systems capable of operating in heterogeneous network environments. Keysight’s Hybrid eCall solution allows in-vehicle systems (IVS) to automatically switch between traditional eCall and NG-eCall protocols depending on network availability, thus guaranteeing continuity of service.

This certification builds upon previous validation obtained by Keysight for the EN 17240 standard. It covers real-world test scenarios, including the implementation of emergency calls, the transmission of the Minimum Data Set (MSD) – which includes location and telemetry data – voice communication quality, and network failover. These tests aim to verify interoperability between In-Vehicle Security Systems (IVS), mobile networks, and Public Service Emergency Response (PSAP) centers.

Interoperability and Regulatory Compliance

The certification confirms that Keysight’s end-to-end testing solution eliminates the risks associated with integration into the automotive safety ecosystem by adapting to evolving international standards. Keysight will participate in the ETSI NG-eCall Plugtests™ 2026 event, organized by the ETSI Centre for Testing and Interoperability, to test interoperability between different industry players: manufacturers, equipment suppliers, network operators and emergency services.
