- RS Components’ agreement with Zerynth complements the DesignSpark community platform with tools for the development of Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
- The DesignSpark Zerynth Studio toolkit allows to program microcontrollers and connect them to Cloud platforms.
RS Components (RS), Electrocomponents’ trademark, has announced a partnership with Zerynth, an Italian start-up specializing in development software for Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
Zerynth’s IoT development environment will be available from the DesignSpark engineering community’s web portal, which already offers a variety of free software tools, technical resources and information to help engineers, technicians and other designers with their electronic projects.
The DesignSpark Zerynth Studio suite will be available for free download from July 2018 on the DesignSpark website.
This software suite is designed for programming the most commonly used 32-bit microcontrollers and connecting them to the main Cloud platforms. It runs on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X computers.
The toolkit includes a compiler, a debugger and a code editor, as well as tutorials and project examples. Programming can be done in Python or in a C/Python hybrid version. It can start as soon as Zerynth’s Virtual Machines for Virtual Machines (VMs) are installed on one of the supported microcontrollers and connect it to Amazon, Google, IBM or Microsoft Cloud services. Microcontrollers from manufacturers such as Espressif, Nordic Semiconductor, NXP, Microchip/Atmel and STMicroelectronics are supported.
