PXI Systems Alliance Elects New President

  • Jon Semancik, director of marketing for Marvin Test Solutions, has been elected to the position of president of the PXI Systems Alliance (PXISA), which is responsible for defining and managing the specifications for modular instrumentation systems in the PXI format.

 
Jon Semancik, a U.S. Navy veteran, has 35 years of experience in the test and measurement industry, including automated test system design and integration, data acquisition system development and implementation, and test software management and development. He is a BSEE (Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering) graduate from Fenn College of Engineering and holds an MBA from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management.

“I am honored to have been selected to lead this organization as we continue to evolve the PXI standard and expand its reach into new markets and applications,” said Jon Semancik. “The PXI platform continues to provide a high-performance, scalable solution for a wide variety of commercial, industrial, aerospace and military test and data acquisition applications.”

Marvin Test Solutions has been a sponsoring member of the PXI Alliance since 1999. Its Genasys Series mixed-signal test platform and suite of 5G semiconductor test solutions leverage the benefits of the PXI architecture, which provides more flexibility and scalability to test applications deployed in the semiconductor, automotive, aerospace, and other industries.

The PXI Systems Alliance is an industry consortium that defines and manages PXI system specifications for both hardware and software to ensure interoperability and ease of integration of PXI systems. The Alliance currently includes 67 companies that design and produce instruments and systems in PXI format.
