- Markus Fischer, currently Executive Vice President Operations, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Rohde & Schwarz by the German company’s Board of Directors.
- He will collaborate with Christian Leicher (CEO) and Andreas Pauly (CTO) with the aim of keeping the family-owned company on a growth track in these difficult times.
“As we have been operating for several years in an environment that poses major economic and geopolitical challenges, it is essential that we place greater emphasis on stability and scalability,” said Christian Leicher, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), who is counting on Markus Fischer to make the company even more resilient to external factors.
Markus Fischer (44) is a true Rohde & Schwarz product. He joined the German group in 2011 as head of materials procurement at the Munich headquarters. After holding another management position in Memmingen, he took over overall responsibility for the group’s supply chain in 2017. In July 2020, he was appointed Executive Vice President Operations, becoming a member of the company’s Executive Board.
In this role, Fischer was responsible for all activities at Rohde & Schwarz’s five production sites, as well as for supply chain and purchasing. As Executive Vice President Operations, he focused on improving efficiency, flexibility and scalability. In particular, he ensured delivery capacity in times of supply chain uncertainty, while contributing to Rohde & Schwarz’s stability.
As COO, Markus Fischer will be responsible for most of Rohde & Schwarz’s operational activities. Andreas Pauly, who joined the Executive Board as CTO in October 2023, will retain his primary responsibility for innovation, research and development. Christian Leicher, Managing Partner, will continue to lead the Board as Chairman and CEO.
