- Rohde & Schwarz will expand development and production capabilities at its Memmingen site, located about 100 kilometers west of Munich.
The German company will build a state-of-the-art technology and production center with an area of 18,000 square meters at its development and manufacturing site in Memmingen.
The site, which currently employs around 1,800 people, is dedicated to microelectronics, test technology and the final production of Test & Measurement instruments, among other things.
Rohde & Schwarz, headquartered in Munich, will invest more than 60 million euros in the expansion project. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on February 6, 2023, and completion is scheduled for mid-2024.
“The construction of the new building in Memmingen underlines our commitment to focusing our development and production strategy in Germany. Our high degree of vertical integration and the proximity of the development and production teams have always proven to be factors in our success,” said Christian Leicher, President and CEO of Rohde & Schwarz.
The German sites in Memmingen and Teisnach manufacture the majority of the product range developed by Rohde & Schwarz.
