- Rohde & Schwarz and Qualcomm Technologies have successfully conducted 5G NR cellular sub 6 GHz signaling tests that are necessary for the future commercial deployment of 5G NR standard telecommunications networks.
- The end-to-end tests were performed using the new R&S CMX500 radiocommunication tester that was presented at the 2019 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
This new test platform complements, with the R&S CMP200 and R&S CMW100 testers, the range of mobile telecommunications equipment test solutions in accordance with 5G NR standards.
The verification of an end-to-end data transfer was performed between the R&S CMX500 radio communication tester and smartphone form factor test device powered by the Snapdragon X50 5G modem and antenna modules with integrated RF transceiver, RF front-end and antenna elements.
The equipment under test was tested under signalling conditions in accordance with 3GPP (Release15) in Non-Standard Alone (NSA) mode.
