- Teledyne LeCroy and Spirent Communications have announced an Ethernet generation and testing solution for network developers using Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM4).
- They have designed a PAM4 adapter to source, synchronise, capture and analyse signals using PAM4 signaling implemented in Ethernet networks according to the IEEE802.3cd standard.
PAM4 signaling enables higher speed Ethernet connections. This requires increased attention to intricacies of establishing and maintaining robust and healthy link connections
Spirent’s TestCenter system generates IEEE 802.3cd compliant 50GbE traffic for exercising these new Ethernet links.
The SierraNet analyzer from Teledyne LeCroy captures and decodes the traffic that is transmitted via the PAM4: QSFP28 adapter module to the SFP56 single w/PTAP.
Users of of the IEEE 802.3cd for 50GbE Ethernet transactions will be able to rely on this joint solution to ensure that their designs meet specifications.
