Signal integrity must be verified during physical communication of high-speed signals within boards, printed circuit boards, cables, connectors and other interconnections. The reliability of high-speed data transmission depends on the electromagnetic characteristics of the communication channel. This requires, among other things, knowledge in the field of microwaves.
In particular, the SignalIntegrity software provides complementary analysis capabilities to Teledyne LeCroy’s WavePulser 40iX high-speed interconnect analyzer. This instrument provides S parameters and impedance profiles for the characterization of high-speed interconnections in a single acquisition.
Using Teledyne LeCroy’s open source software, engineers who need to test, design and understand signal integrity on protocols such as Gigabit Ethernet, Infiniband, Fibre Channel, USB, HDMI and SATA can now access, modify and extend the source code of SignalIntegrity to facilitate their test and design work.
The open source SignalIntegrity software is published in the Python Packaging Index (PyPI).
