Teradyne Acquires TestInsight

  • Teradyne, a US-based specialist in automated test equipment (ATE) and robotics, has announced the acquisition of TestInsight, an Israeli company offering development, validation, and test conversion software for semiconductors.
  • This acquisition aims to strengthen Teradyne’s capabilities in design-to-test software, particularly for devices related to artificial intelligence (AI) and data centers.

The increasing complexity of AI-based devices and shorter product lifecycles require manufacturers to respond quickly to market opportunities while maintaining high levels of quality.

TestInsight’s software tools, such as pattern conversion, validation, and virtual testing, are designed to reduce debugging cycles, improve test coverage, and prepare test programs earlier.

Based in Ramat Gan, Israel, and founded in 1998, TestInsight offers tools for test program creation, pattern conversion, and pre-silicon validation, used in various semiconductor design and test environments.

The integration of TestInsight with Teradyne is intended to facilitate a seamless transition from design to testing, providing customers with an optimized workflow. This collaboration aims to accelerate chip preparation and increase confidence in testing processes, particularly for the emerging AI and data center markets.

Meir Gellis, founder and CEO of TestInsight, stated: “Our goal has always been to bridge the gap between design and testing. By joining Teradyne, we will be able to develop the next generation of pre-silicon validation and automated pattern generation technologies, helping our customers shorten their cycles and simplify their global workflows.”
