- Anritsu announces the expansion of its Virtual Network Master network measurement solution, dedicated to cloud and virtual environments, with the launch of a new model: Virtual Network Master for KVM MX109031PC.
- This solution supports virtualized server environments based on KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine), an open-source virtualization technology widely used on Linux.
Designed for private cloud environments deployed and managed by enterprises and organizations, it enables the evaluation of end-to-end network communication quality, including in virtual environments where hardware testing instruments cannot be installed.
According to Anritsu, in recent years, business systems and social infrastructures have increasingly adopted cloud and large-scale architectures, resulting in complex, distributed system configurations. To ensure availability and stability in these environments, operations now often span multiple data centers.
In sectors like healthcare and finance, where large volumes of sensitive data, including personal information, are processed continuously, a trend is emerging toward the use of private clouds on-premises for security and compliance reasons. In these environments, server virtualization technologies, such as KVM, are essential for enabling flexible system operations. Ensuring service-level performance is therefore becoming an increasingly critical issue.
However, hardware testing tools cannot be installed in virtual environments, making it difficult to accurately assess the actual quality of communication between applications. To address this challenge, Anritsu has developed this software measurement solution that operates in KVM virtual environments. It enables end-to-end communication quality assessment with high reproducibility, under conditions closely resembling real-world operation.
Software Measurement Solution
Virtual Network Master is a software measurement solution for assessing communication quality in networks, including cloud and virtual environments.
While the existing MX109030PC series model supports AWS cloud environments, the new MX109031PC model supports KVM virtual environments. This enables accurate communication quality assessment, even in cloud and virtual environments where hardware test instruments cannot be deployed.
By combining these models, users can also assess communication quality in hybrid environments, where public and private clouds coexist.
Key Features
The software solution offers measurement parameters such as throughput, latency, jitter, and packet loss. It supports remote operation and automation via a web-based graphical interface and APIs. Furthermore, it enables end-to-end testing with other Virtual Network Master systems, as well as with the MT1000A and MT1040A series instruments, providing consistent network quality visualization from public and private clouds to field environments.
