- B&K Precision announces the release of the DAS1820, a portable, two-location version of its DAS1800 data acquisition system.
- This model retains the architecture, features, and analytical capabilities of the DAS1800 series, while offering a compact and cost-effective alternative.
Designed for industrial and power applications, the DAS1820 data acquisition system enables rapid data acquisition and real-time analysis, with full compatibility with measurement modules and the plug-and-play functionality of the DAS1800 series.
Modular Architecture for Diverse Applications
The DAS1820 data acquisition system supports four types of interchangeable modules: a universal module (4 channels), a multiplexed module (8 channels), a high-impedance module (4 channels), and a high-voltage module (4 channels). Thanks to the D18-MUX8 multiplexed module, the system can handle up to 16 analog input channels.
The D18-HVM4 high-voltage module enables measurements up to ±1500 VDC, making the DAS1820 data acquisition system suitable for industrial and power applications. The system also supports temperature measurements via thermocouples and RTDs, and includes a sensor library for storing and recalling configuration information.
Acquisition and Analysis Capabilities
The DAS1820 data acquisition system digitizes signals at a maximum sampling rate of 1 MSa/s per channel, with up to 8 simultaneous channels, enabling the capture of fast transient events. It offers a memory management solution, with the ability to sample simultaneously at three different frequencies, each recorded in independent files. An internal 500 GB SSD allows for long-term data storage.
The acquisition system offers an embedded scripting environment for real-time, single- or multi-channel calculations, as well as a dedicated power analysis module. This module supports single-phase and three-phase DC networks operating at 50 Hz, 60 Hz, or 400 Hz. The DAS1820-SYNC model also enables synchronization via IRIG, GPS, and PTP protocols, ensuring precise time alignment between multiple distributed systems.
Portability and Available Options
Weighing 5 kg (including battery) and with two modules installed, the DAS1820 acquisition system is a portable solution while retaining the key features of the DAS1800 model. Several options are available, including a removable battery (D1820-BAT) and a software license for the PTP protocol (D18-PTP). The system comes with a rugged carrying case, a power cord, and 25-pin and 15-pin male D-SUB connectors.
