Cadence acquires Invecas

  • US electronic design software provider Cadence Design Systems has announced the acquisition of fellow Californian company Invecas.
  • Founded in 2014 and based in Santa Clara, Invecas is a provider of design engineering solutions for electronic integrated circuits, embedded software and systems-on-a-chip.

Through this acquisition, Cadence extends its capabilities to electronic systems design engineering with the ability to develop custom solutions for chip design and embedded software.

Cadence believes it will be better equipped to support its customers, who are expressing ever-increasing needs in terms of end-to-end design engineering. The American company intends to better support them in their process of developing custom systems-on-a-chip.

Invecas has a team of around 350 engineers qualified to offer design services ranging from electronic chips to application software. The company, which has an engineering hub in the Indian city of Hyderabad, has established relationships with players in the design ecosystem, as well as with foundry, assembly and test partners. It has experience in both chip design and production.

Invecas will now leverage Cadence’s IP portfolio and electronics design software tools to offer more comprehensive custom solutions.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Cadence says the acquisition is not expected to impact its sales or earnings this year.
