MTX 3297Ex digital multimeter from Chauvin Arnoux

Chauvin Arnoux offers a multimeter designed for measurements in explosive atmospheres.

  • Chauvin Arnoux offers the MTX 3297Ex digital multimeter from its Metrix brand, distinguished by its ability to be used in environments where there is a risk of explosion (ATEX).
  • This portable DMM is ATEX and IEC Ex approved and certified for zones IIC (gas) 0, 1 and 2, zones IIIC (dust) 20, 21 and 22 and M1 mines. It can therefore be used in all areas of the oil, chemical, pharmaceutical and mining industries.

The MTX 3297Ex digital multimeter also meets the electrical safety requirements of IEC 61010-2-033, up to 1000 V CAT III and 600 V CAT IV.

Equipped with a 5.7” backlit display (2 x 60000 dots), this instrument is housed in an overmolded casing that protects it from impact. It complies with IP67 protection rating requirements, ensuring that it is impervious to liquid and dust splashes.

The multimeter features a terminal block with connection reminder, a single terminal for current measurement with automatic V/A detection and switching. It signals the presence of all dangerous voltages.

It features measurement functions for voltage (0.001 mV to 1000 V), current (0.01 μA to 10.00 A), resistance (0 Ω to 60 MΩ), capacitance (0.10nF to 60 mF), diode, frequency (10 Hz to 200 kHz for voltage, and 20 kHz for current) and temperature (-200 °C to +800 °C). Measurements can be made with a resolution of 1 μV in voltage and 0.01 μA in current.

Outside ATEX zones, measured values can even be monitored and evaluated in real time on a PC using SX-DMM software.
