Simphera simulation solution from Dspace certified ISO 26262

Dspace’s Simphera simulation solution certified to ISO 26262

  • Dspace has received ISO 26262 certification from TÜV Süd for its Simphera software solution for automotive safety systems.
  • This cloud-based simulation solution is intended for the validation of driving functions of autonomous vehicles.

ISO 26262 is a multi-stakeholder standard that defines requirements and provides guidance for ensuring the functional safety of electrical/electronic (E/E) systems in road vehicles. This standard is considered a best practice framework for ensuring the functional safety of vehicles. Its implementation ensures a high level of safety in automotive components from the start.

According to Dspace, automotive manufacturers and suppliers can take advantage of Simphera to qualify their global processes according to ISO 26262 and focus on proving the functional safety of their own complex process chains.

The Simphera solution, which was launched on the market nine months ago, has been certified by TÜV Süd, an independent international testing, inspection and certification organization.

Following this certification, Dspace and TÜV Süd have agreed to jointly develop a new procedure for the continuous certification of agilely developed software products, such as Simphera, according to ISO 26262. As a result, new functionalities for the validation of autonomous driving functions can be offered in the near future.

Simphera, a web-based cloud solution, allows users to perform computationally intensive validation of autonomous driving functions. It enables remote collaboration of development teams and allows customers to seamlessly integrate their applications. Reusable models, scenarios, tests and interfaces enable continuous testing on both software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) platforms.
