Metrology: new acquisitions for Trescal in East Asia and the United States

  • Trescal, a specialist in metrology services, announces the acquisition of two companies: MATsolutions located in Dallas and NorthLab in Singapore.
  • These two transactions are the fifth and sixth acquisitions made by Trescal since its acquisition by Omers, the main shareholder of the Trescal group.

 
“These two acquisitions demonstrate our desire to aggressively expand our presence in North America and Asia. We are targeting a turnover of €30 million in Southeast Asia with double-digit organic growth and three or four additional acquisitions by 2019,” said Guillaume Caroit, Deputy Managing Director of Trescal,

MATsolutions offers calibration services in the electrical, dimensional, optical and physical fields, mainly for the telecom, electronics and aeronautics industries. The American company located in Dallas, which was founded in 1992, is accredited PJLA ISO/IEC 17025. It employs 24 people and generated $6.5 million in sales in 2017. It also markets second-hand test and measurement instruments after their repair and overhaul.

NorthLab is based in Singapore and Malaysia (Selangor and Labuan). Its laboratories are accredited SAC-SINGLAS (ISO/IEC 17025) and SAMM (ISO/IEC 17025). This metrology service provider founded in 1996 addresses the petrochemical, shipbuilding and engineering industries. Two of the four founders remain with the Asian company, which has a turnover of €4 million and a workforce of 90 people.
