Pickering Interfaces launches a service for the design of turnkey switching systems

  • Pickering Interfaces, a provider of modular switching and signal simulation solutions for electronic testing and validation, is launching a new service for the realization of turnkey solutions in LXI format for switching and routing RF and microwave signals.

This new service designs custom, ready-to-use solutions that meet customer specifications. These test systems, integrated in a suitable housing, consist of switches, a dedicated software interface and all cabling. These systems are fully tested, validated and documented by Pickering and come with a three-year warranty.

These compact rack-mounted switch solutions are designed and manufactured by Pickering’s experts. The multiplexers, matrices and signal routing sub-assemblies use a standard LXI/Ethernet interface. These solutions can cover frequency bandwidths ranging from DC to 67 GHz @ 50Ω, with terminated and un-terminated variants and bandwidths up to 2.5 GHz @ 75Ω.

These switching subsystems in the RF and microwave domain are fully documented to ensure repeatable performance when ordering complementary systems. In addition, they use a programming environment based on Pickering’s standard switching API (Application Programming Interface) that supports the major programming languages for automatic test applications. The Pickering Switch Path Manager signal routing software can be used to reduce the integration time for complex subsystems.

“Our customers are increasingly demanding out-of-the-box solutions that require minimal installation and integration time and effort. Now all you have to do is provide us with the configuration and specifications for your application. Our engineers will work closely with you to provide a maintainable end product that meets your expectations and includes all the elements a test engineer needs to set up and operate a test system in the RF and microwave domain,” says Keith Moore, CEO of Pickering Interfaces.

In addition, Pickering can turn a custom solution into a ‘commercial-off-the-shelf’ (COTS) product with over 15 years of product support.
