Rohde & Schwarz organises its “Demystifying EMC” conference online

  • The “Demystifying EMC” event, organised by Rohde & Schwarz, will take place on 6 February 2024.
  • This virtual event features technical presentations and workshops led by EMC experts from Rohde & Schwarz and its industrial and academic partners.
  • These conferences, broadcast live, will enable participants to keep abreast of the main developments in EMC standards, expand their knowledge of EMC and benefit from practical advice.

Presentations will cover the latest updates to CISPR, RED, ANSI, ISO, MIL and medical EMC standards, as well as approaches to testing, design, risk management and compliance.

Five 30-minute presentations will take place during the morning session. They will start after opening remarks by Christina Gessner, Executive Vice President of Rohde & Schwarz, and Michael Fischlein, Vice President of Spectrum & Network Analysers and EMC & Antenna Testing at Rohde & Schwarz. The inaugural conference will provide an overview of the requirements for EMC testing and the test solutions to be implemented.

Topics covered in the morning sessions will include building and maintaining in-house capabilities for EMC compliance testing, the importance of calibration and calibration services, and qualifying equipment in accordance with US FCC and EU RED regulations. In addition, sessions will present small satellite testing for New Space missions and vehicle testing using the latest methods in a reverberation chamber.

The afternoon session will begin with a presentation of the latest updates to the CISPR and ISO standards. Professor Arturo Mediano from the University of Zaragoza will then give a practical demonstration of conducted emissions tests. The afternoon will also be devoted to the challenges posed by EMC immunity testing in the medical and automotive sectors, and to the latest developments in these fields.

At the closing conference, a panel of EMC experts will discuss the outlook for EMC testing over the next decade and beyond. Participants will be able to interact directly with these experts by asking them questions.
