Rohde & Schwarz launches the R&S SAM100 amplifier, which covers a frequency range from 2 to 20 GHz and offers an output power of up to 20W.
The SAM100 amplifier is aimed at manufacturers of passive and active microwave components and microwave equipment required for the deployment of IoT (WLAN, Bluetooth), radar, mobile radio (UMTS, LTE, 4G & 5 G) and satellite transmission applications. According to Rohde & Schwarz, this compact solution is ideally suited for applications using signals with AM, FM, PM and OFDM modulation.
Rohde & Schwarz has focused on the professional requirements of R&D engineers who use system amplifiers to validate their designs, system integrators and test engineers who use system amplifiers in automatic test benches to validate their product designs as well as for the validation of RF devices in production. This amplifier is also intended for engineers in EMC test laboratories who need to conduct tests at frequencies up to 18 GHz.
The SAM100 ultra wideband amplifier is suitable for a variety of configurations and test systems operating in the frequency range from 2 to 20 GHz. It has a gain level of 47 dB at 15 GHz and an output power (Psat) of, for example, 26 W between 3 GHz to 4.5 GHz and 10 W between 13.5 GHz to 19.5 GHz. It also has a noise figure of less than 8.0 dB.
