- Tektronix and Coherent Solutions, a provider of photonic test and measurement instrumentation, announce an exclusive partnership agreement to provide integrated optical communication platforms to meet the needs of the telecommunications, datacom, defense/aerospace and semiconductor markets.
“Tektronix and Coherent Solutions are committed to providing test and measurement solutions for high-bandwidth optical communications,” said Amy Taylor, general manager of Performance Solution at Tektronix. “The combination of Coherent Solutions’ IQTransmitter family of modulated optical signal generation systems with Tektronix’ arbitrary signal generators (AWGs) provides a complete optical communication platform.»
In particular, the two companies will provide fully integrated optical modulation analysis (OMA) systems based on Tektronix DPO70000SX/DX oscilloscopes (photo) and Coherent Solutions’ IQReceiver series of coherent modulation format measurement receivers. This platform enables the generation of coherently modulated signals, such as QPSK, 64-QAM and ODFM, used by high-speed communications equipment.
Complex optical modulation is essential for test and measurement applications for products to be deployed in 400G/800G networks at transmission rates up to 1TB/s. Tektronix oscilloscopes integrated into Coherent Solutions’ optical signal processing units are designed to facilitate the development of coherent transceivers that meet current and future standards.
