Teledyne SP Devices ADQ36 PXIe Digitizer

Teledyne SP Devices Announces ADQ36 Series PXIe Digitizer with Embedded FPGA

  • The ADQ36 PXIe digitizer from Teledyne SP Devices has four analog inputs covering a frequency range of up to 2.5 GHz.
  • Signals are sampled at a rate of 2.5 GS/s per channel (5 GS/s when only two inputs are used) with a resolution of 12 bits.
  • This signal acquisition board embeds a user-programmable FPGA from the Xilinx Kintex Ultrascale KU115 series.

This digitizer in PXIe (PXI Express) format is aimed at multi-channel applications that are demanding in terms of calculations and processing that can be handled by the embedded user-programmable FPGA.

It can also provide data transfer (peer-to-peer streaming) at data rates of up to 7 GB/s. This is an undeniable advantage over conventional solutions that require data to be copied via the host PC’s RAM.

The peer-to-peer transfer mode frees up CPU and memory that can be used for other tasks. The data can then be post-processed by a graphics processing unit (GPU) or saved to an SSD.

The Digitizer Studio software, supplied with the digitizer, provides functions for configuring and controlling the acquisition system as well as for displaying signals.

A software development kit (SDK) is also provided. It includes application programming interfaces (APIs) and drivers for C/C++ and others.
