Viavi’s TeraVM 5G Core Emulator solution.

Viavi’s TeraVM mobile network emulator supports 5G SA specifications

  • Viavi announces the availability of TeraVM, its 3GPP compatible test solution enabling the emulation of the 5G radio access network (RAN) and the core network to conduct end-to-end network performance tests.

Viavi Solutions has announced that the 5G TeraVM test platform supports the Stand-Alone (SA) specifications of the latest 3GPP standards as well as Non-Stand-Alone (NSA) mode.

Equipped with 5G radio access network (RAN) emulation capability and core network elements, this solution allows end-to-end and global testing of gNodeB base stations (gNB) and 5G core network functions.

The TeraVM solution allows network equipment manufacturers, node developers and service providers to test the mobile radio access network and core elements, validating that the equipment operates in accordance with 3GPP standards, interacts with other 5GPP elements and operates optimally when loaded with complex mobile profiles, even when errors are introduced. According to Viavi, this makes it possible to deploy optimized networks and 5G services faster, more reliably and with a minimum of risk.

TeraVM is part of the American manufacturer’s range of Lab To Field network testing and validation solutions. This solution allows real and scalable network emulation in the laboratory, data center or cloud.

Viavi demonstrated its TeraVM solution at the 5G World 2019 event held on June 12 and 13 in London.
