MVG Multiprobe System and Anritsu MT8862A Tester

Anritsu and MVG offer a solution for OTA testing in the 6 GHz band

  • Microwave Vision Group (MVG) and Anritsu are offering a solution for performing over-the-air (OTA) measurements in the 6 GHz band specified by the IEEE 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6E) wireless communication standard.
  • This solution combines a multi-probe system from MVG with Anritsu’s MT8862A wireless connectivity tester.

The Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E protocols are based on the IEEE 802.11ax wireless communication standard. The 6E variant leverages a new unlicensed 6 GHz band in addition to the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands. The 6 GHz band supports a bandwidth of 1200 MHz up to 7.125 GHz with 160 MHz channels.

MVG’s multiprobe systems in conjunction with Anritsu’s MT8862A tester provide a solution for evaluating the RF performance of devices operating in the 6 GHz band.

MVG’s multi-probe systems are designed to perform antenna measurements and over-the-air (OTA) testing of wireless communication devices of all sizes. They provide 3D visualization of the antenna radiation patterns of the devices under test by electronically scanning their probe array. Using only one azimuthal positioning axis, they minimize the scattering caused by the positioning system, which increases the accuracy of the measurements.

MVG’s multi-probe systems range from compact, portable testers to measurement solutions specifically tailored to testing large equipment.

The Anritsu MT8862A Wireless Connectivity Tester is an all-in-one test solution for performing RF measurements of wireless communication technologies based on the IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax standard, and operating in the 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz frequency bands with channel bandwidths of 160 MHz.
