- Announced in April, Hensoldt’s takeover of most of the activities of the French electronic equipment supplier Nexeya was completed.
- Nexeya joined the German group Hensoldt on October 1, 2019.
Hensoldt takes over Nexeya’s testing, integration and services business as well as most of its mission management systems and power conversion solutions businesses. This represents a turnover of 95 million euros with a workforce of approximately 620 employees.
Nexeya’s space activity (Nexeya Space) and certain defence activities related to the preservation of French sovereignty are not included in the scope of this acquisition. Its activities continue within a new company, Hemeria, which employs 200 people and has a turnover of 36 million euros.
Nexeya designs, manufactures and maintains complex electronic systems at three French sites (Angoulême, Massy and Toulouse) for various industrial sectors: aerospace, defence, energy and transport.
Hensoldt, headquartered in Munich, has been present in France through its subsidiary since 2018 in the field of communication and friendly/enemy identification (IFF). The company designs sensors and measuring systems for protection systems, monitoring and situational awareness for defence and security electronics applications. It develops integrated solutions that meet the customer’s specific requirements in the fields of radar, optronics, electronic warfare and avionics. The German company has an annual turnover of around €1 billion and a workforce of around 4,400 employees.
Nexeya designs and manufactures specialized, highly critical electronic systems: test and integration solutions, mission management systems, power conversion devices, telemetry and flight test solutions from the mobile station to the complete listening room. In 2018, all its activities generated an annual turnover of approximately 128 million euros with a workforce of 815 employees.
