Rohde & Schwarz’s R & S RTO2000 series oscilloscopes, with a bandwidth of 6 GHz, now offer software options for testing serial communication interfaces: USB SuperSpeed 5 Gbps and PCI Express (PCIe) 2.0, USB power delivery (USB-PD).
Serial communication interfaces such as USB and PCIe require specific test tools. Rohde & Schwarz meets these requirements by proposing the appropriate test options for the R & S RTO2064 and the R & S RT-ZM60 broadband sensor for connection to the device under test. The new software tools provide triggering and decoding capabilities for SuperSpeed (USB 3.1 Gen1), PCIe 1.1 / 2.0 and USB-PD USB bus analysis, as well as PCIe 1.1 / 2.0 compliance testing .
These software options for triggering and decoding allow you to view faults occurring during data transmission on USB busses SuperSpeed, PCIe 2.0 and USB-PD. The trigger modes on the user-defined protocol specific events and the serial data decoding allow the R & S RTO2000 to provide additional measurements in the time and frequency domains correlated with the trigger event. This facilitates the determination of the cause of a defect.
The results can be displayed in a table detailing all the time-stamped data of the protocol. It is possible to analyze and view the protocol at different levels (bit or symbol), or a specific protocol with frame start, address and data …
Rohde & Schwarz is also expanding its PCIe 1.1 / 2.0 compliance testing solutions. This software option, based on post-processing analysis of the PCI-SIG standard, evaluates the conformity of the signal according to the requirements of this standard. It allows automated verification of the conformity of the physical layer up to a rate of 2.5 Gbit / s.
The new R & S RTO-K61 PCIe 1.1 / 2.0 and R & S RTO-K71 PCIe 1.1 / 2.0 R & S RTO-K71 PCIe 1.1 / 2.0 R & S RTO-K61 are designed specifically for the R & S RTO2000 range of oscilloscopes with bandwidth of 6 GHz. These options, along with R & S RTE / RTO-K63 USB-PD T & D options, are available now.
