Teledyne LeCroy's Quantumdata M42d

Teledyne LeCroy’s Quantumdata M42d Analyzer and Generator is ready for DisplayPort 2.0 Link Layer Compliance Tests

  • Teledyne LeCroy is offering a DisplayPort 2.0 Link Layer Conformance Test software option for the Quantumdata M42d Video Analyzer and Generator.
  • The first compliance tests supported by the quantumdata M42d are for source link layer tests with DisplayPort 2.0’s Ultra High Bit Rate (UHBR) using the new 128b/132b line coding.

The compliance testing ensures interoperability of devices using DisplayPort 2.0 technology by ensuring compliance with the specifications set forth by the standard.

“Consumer electronics devices from desktop PCs to displays to mobile devices are increasingly incorporating the DisplayPort digital interface to support higher resolution video and frame rates. Therefore, it is essential to have testing tools to verify that the DisplayPort specifications are being met. VESA member companies such as Teledyne LeCroy provide us with the testing solutions we need to test DisplayPort 2.0 interfaces,” said Bill Lempesis, executive director of the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA), which develops, specifies and administers the DisplayPort standard.

The analyzer/generator addressing DisplayPort 2.0 interface testing needs was introduced to the market in early 2020. Its test capabilities are now complemented by compliance testing tools.

The quantumdata M42d video analyzer and generator already offered Aux Channel analysis, capture analysis of the main link, video generation, and full DisplayPort 1.4 compliance tests for sources and sinks.

With the T.A.P.4 connection technology developed by Teledyne LeCroy, it is also possible to perform passive probing of the auxiliary channel and the main link.
