- Teledyne LeCroy offers the Video Analyzer and Generator for protocol and conformance testing of devices using the DisplayPort 2.0 interface designed for connecting displays and graphics cards .
Consumer electronic devices, from desktop PCs to displays to mobile and portable devices, are increasingly integrating a DisplayPort digital interface to support higher video resolutions and frame rates.
The DisplayPort 2.0 standard enables data rates of 20 Gbps per channel for an aggregate bandwidth of 80 Gbps, compared to 32.4 Gbps for the DisplayPort 1.4 standard. These data rates support high-resolution displays up to 16k with a refresh rate of 60 Hz (60 frames per second).
Appropriate test tools are required for the specification and development of products using the DisplayPort 2.0 interface, as well as to ensure compliance. The Quantumdata M42d Video Analyzer and Generator has been designed to conduct such tests and ensure interoperability with other devices.
Teledyne LeCroy’s Quantumdata M42d system supports Source and Sink testing at new data rates and online coding. It also offers advanced capabilities such as LTTPR emulation and Panel Replay. The Capture Analyzer feature provides detailed visibility of the main link. The Aux Channel Analyzer records Aux Channel transactions.
All DisplayPort 1.4 data rate compliance test suites are available now. Those for the DisplayPort 2.0 link layer will be integrated as they are defined by the standards committee.
The M42d system incorporates passive probes using Teledyne LeCroy’s T.A.P.4™ technology. “The passive probe option provides non-intrusive monitoring of the auxiliary channel and the main link between the devices. It is particularly useful at the high data rate levels of DisplayPort 2.0,” said Neal Kendall, Product Manager for Teledyne LeCroy’s video products.
