Picoscope 9404 oscilloscope from Pico Technology.

The Picoscope 9404 oscilloscope module combines real-time and equivalent sampling modes

  • The British company Pico Technology announces the availability of the oscilloscope module of the Picoscope 9404 family.
  • The Picoscope 9404 is a real-time oscilloscope with extended sampler (SXRTO for Sampler eXtended Real Time Oscilloscope).
  • This frontless instrument controlled by PC via its USB link can be used either as a real-time or equivalent sampling oscilloscope.

The 9404 oscilloscope module has four channels covering a frequency band up to 5 GHz.

The maximum sampling rate of 12-bit real-time digitized signals is 500 MS/s per channel and up to 1 TS/s (1 ps) in time equivalent.

The Picoscope 9404 has four 5 GHz input channels to capture pulse transitions up to 70 ps, pulses up to 140 ps, and clocks and eye diagrams up to 3 Gb/s.

This oscilloscope module has triggering capabilities over the entire bandwidth covered on each channel. Three three acquisition modes are available (real time, equivalent time and roll-all). The signals are digitized at 12-bit resolution and stored in a shared memory of 250 kS.

This instrument is controlled by a PC via a USB link and is supplied with the PicoSample 4 software required to configure the instrument, display waveforms, measured values and statistics, and various signal processing.

The use of Picoconnect 900 series passive gigabit and microwave test probes is recommended with this oscilloscope module equipped with an active SMA interface.

With a five-year warranty, the Picoscope 9404 is available for $14,995 / €11,995 / £10,995.
