Rohde & Schwarz has obtained a license for Qualcomm Technologies’ 5G Interface Control Document that describes the unique messages that come from the Snapdragon X55 5G RF modem. Access to these messages is essential for the development of test solutions such as QualiPoc, for example, which captures and analyzes these messages to assess network quality and customer experience.
The interaction between a mobile device and the mobile telecommunications network involves hundreds or even thousands of unique two-way messages to verify all parameters related to mobile phone calls or data transmissions.
The quantity and complexity of messages exchanged continues to increase as new functions and capabilities are integrated. This trend will undoubtedly increase with the gradual transition from 4G/LTE to 5G technologies.
“Early and complete access to the interface control document allows us to develop test solutions more quickly so that our customers can be assured that all measurements made with our test equipment are technically accurate and legally sound,” reports Hans-Peter Bobst, CEO of Rohde & Schwarz SwissQual.
