- Teledyne LeCroy announces the launch of the WaveSurfer 4000HD high definition (HDO) oscilloscope, which features a 12-bit vertical resolution, a first for an oscilloscope of its class according to its manufacturer.
- The WaveSurfer 4000HD series oscilloscopes, equipped with a 12.1″ touch screen, offer a bandwidth ranging from 200 MHz to 1 GHz depending on the models and can sample signals at rates up to 5 GS/s.
- Integrating debugging functions of embedded electronics systems, these instruments have an acquisition memory depth of up to 12.5 Mpts on each channel (25 Mpts on two channels).
The WaveSurfer 4000HD uses Teledyne LeCroy’s HD4096 high-definition technology to deliver uncompromising 12-bit resolution. This technology combines an input amplifier system with high signal-to-noise ratio and 12-bit analog-to-digital converters (ADC) to capture and display waveforms with 16 times higher resolution than 8-bit oscilloscopes.
According to Teledyne Lecroy, the WaveSurfer 4000HD offers the lowest noise floor : 2.5 times lower than competitive oscilloscopes with 12-bit ADC and 5 times lower than competitive oscilloscopes with 10-bit ADC. This oscilloscope also has a maximum accuracy of 0.5% compared to 2.5% for competitors at 1 mV/div gain.
The WaveSurfer 4000HD oscilloscope also integrates 16 digital channels (MSO), an arbitrary waveform generator (AWG), a frequency counter and a spectrum analyzer (available early 2020).
The oscilloscopes of the WaveSurfer 4000HD range are available now. Their price starts at 8735€ HT. Several protocol analysis and power analysis kits are available as options
