Trescal Metrology services

Trescal acquires two laboratories in Europe and one in the US

  • Trescal, a specialist in metrology services, has announced the acquisition of Cincinnati Precision Instruments (CPI) in Ohio, USA, CRT Cleanroom-Technology in Germany and Switzerland and Electronica Industrial de Alverca (EIA) in Portugal.
  • These three companies, with total revenues of €16 million, are the 40th, 41st and 42nd acquisitions made by Trescal since its acquisition by Omers in April 2018.

“These acquisitions illustrate our desire to develop our offering for the healthcare and food sectors. These sectors will represent nearly 25% of our sales by the end of 2022,” said Guillaume Caroit, CEO of Trescal Group.

Founded in 1962, Cincinnati Precision Instruments (CPI) provides metrology services. The U.S.-based company is accredited in nine fields including humidity, hardness and pressure. It operates mainly in the automotive and aerospace sectors. The acquisition expands Trescal’s geographic coverage in southern Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.

CRT Cleanroom-Technology has two laboratories in Alsdorf, Germany, and Stein, Switzerland. The company offers calibration and qualification services for cleanrooms. This acquisition strengthens Trescal’s healthcare expertise in Central Europe, including skills in particle counting, microbial sampling, thermal process qualification and flow visualization.

Founded in 1989, Electronica Industrial de Alverca (EIA) specializes mainly in the health and food sectors with two accredited laboratories located in Lisbon and Porto. Its accreditations reinforce Trescal’s expertise in calibration, testing and legal metrology in the Iberian Peninsula.
