- While the private equity investment activity of the Canadian pension fund Omers entered into exclusive negotiations with Ardian to take control of Trescal in November, the acquisition strategy of the global metrology services specialist continues.
- After having purchased the French A+ Métrologie in early November, Trescal announces the acquisition of the Spanish laboratory Calgas and the Canadian laboratory ISL.
- These are the 26th and 27th acquisitions since the acquisition of Trescal by Ardian in July 2013.
Calibración de analizadores de gas (Calgas), a metrology service provider based in Madrid, is the fourth acquisition of Trescal in Spain since 2014. Created in 2003, Calgas provides a range of ENAC accredited calibration services for gas analyzers and gas flow measurement. The company employs ten people and has a turnover of 600 k€. It operates in the Test, Inspection and Certification (TIC), petrochemicals and agri-food sectors.
Founded in 1991, ISL, Trescal’s third acquisition in Canada since 2016, is an ANAB-accredited metrology laboratory based in Toronto and specializing in pressure and temperature, particularly heat treatment according to the AMS 2750E standard for the aviation industry. The Canadian company also manufactures and markets custom thermocouples. It employs three people and generates revenues of CAD$1 million (around 667k€), mainly in the aeronautics, automotive and energy sectors.
As always, these acquisitions were carried out with the support of Ardian, an independent private equity firm and majority shareholder of Trescal.
