Own The Future: Tektronix Offers Three Instrument Packages for Universities and Engineering Schools

  • Tektronix announces the Own The Future initiative to provide teachers, students and research labs with an easy-to-use panel of instruments and application software.
  • As part of this initiative, Tektronix is offering three instrument packages targeted at three user categories: Fundamental Teaching Lab, Electronics Engineering Lab and Next-gen RF/Wireless Lab.

The Own the Future initiative for the education sector aims to equip classrooms and laboratories with instruments for the most common electronic measurements, from digital multimeters to waveform generators and associated application software. This is accompanied by an appropriate service program.

« “Own the Future” initiative provides solutions for training tomorrow’s engineers, avoiding getting lost in conjectures about how best to design a test bench that meets the needs of a university laboratory. Having the same tools on campus that they will use in their first job makes it easier for students to explore the world of electronics and gain confidence in using those tools before employing them as professional engineers,” said Kristi Flores, chief marketing officer and vice president of global marketing for Tektronix.

The solutions offered by Own the Future are designed for all levels of study: from undergraduate students to graduate programs. They come in three selections of instruments targeting three categories of users.

The Fundamental Teaching Lab bench configuration includes these fundamentals for an engineering education:
• TBS1000C and TBS2000B Oscilloscopes
• DMM6500 Digital Multimeter
• 2231A-30-3 Power Supply
• AFG1062 Arbitrary Function Generator

The Electronics Engineering Lab bench configuration enables students to learn advanced electronics with these tools:
• 3 Series MDO Oscilloscope
• TCP0030A Current Probe
• DMM6500 Digital Multimeter
• 2231A-30-3 Power Supply
• AFG31000 Arbitrary Function Generator

The Next-gen RF/Wireless Lab enables students to learn more challenging designs with:
• 3 Series MDO Oscilloscope
• 2450 Source Measure Unit
• 2280S Power Supply
• AFG31000 Arbitrary Function Generator
• RSA306B USB Signal Analyzer
• TTR500 USB Vector Network Analyzer
• TSG4100 Vector Signal Generator
