OTA Test: Bluetest integrates Keysight’s new 5G radio solutions

  • Keysight Technologies has extended its collaboration with Bluetest in the field of OTA (Over-the-Air) testing which is essential for the development and validation of 5G NR mobile devices.

Swedish company Bluetest will integrate Keysight’s new 5G NR radio network emulation solutions into its reverberation chamber to perform OTA tests on 5G NR devices in frequency bands below 6GHz (FR1).

Mobile phone operators in China, Japan, Korea and Europe are aiming to roll out 5G networks in FR1 by 2020. They therefore need test solutions for the development and validation of new 5G NR devices operating in the FR1 frequency bands and having favourable radio propagation characteristics such as penetration and range in buildings.

The integration of Keysight’s 5G network emulation solutions with Bluetest reverberation chambers allows mobile operators and mobile device manufacturers to verify the data rate performance of 5G NR devices operating in FR1.

“By integrating Keysight’s 5G network emulator into Bluetest’s reverberation chamber, we can support 5G NR frequencies on frequencies below 6GHz and test mobile devices under multipath conditions using MIMO (multiple input multiple output) technology,” said Kjell Olovsson, Bluetest’s Managing Director.
